Holistic Wellbeing Treatments
A Unique Approach
Therapeutic Thai Bodywork
Every person has unique needs, which is why each treatment is tailored to meet the specific requirements of the individual based on the principles of Thai medicine. Charlie will utilise various techniques during the session, including the use of hands, thumbs, elbows, forearms, knees, feet, and gentle stretches to address areas of tension and discomfort. By applying these techniques, it will help to facilitate changes in the body, mind, and energy levels of the client, leaving them feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
To enhance the benefits of the treatment, heated compresses, balms, and oils are also utilised. These elements help to soothe and nourish the skin while promoting relaxation and a sense of calm. The warmth from the compresses and oils penetrates deeply into the muscles, helping to release any tension or stiffness. The use of these techniques and products in combination creates a holistic experience, aiding in complete relaxation and unwinding as well as addressing specific needs such as back and shoulder pain.
Nurturing Pregnancy Table Massage
Pregnancy massage is a gentle, relaxing massage that can be used safely throughout the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. It is a popular complementary therapy that can be used for back pain when choices for pain relief, such as medication, can be limited.
Benefits of pregnancy massage may include:
Eases aching muscles, particularly in upper back
Improved circulation
Helps with fluid retention in the legs
Relieves tiredness and fatigue from the extra weight carried
Helps you to relax from the pressures of the pregnancy and gives you a bit of pampering before your baby arrives
Prenatal Thai Massage
Prenatal Thai Massage is a therapeutic technique that supports expectant mothers as their bodies prepare for childbirth. It involves a combination of massage using rhythmic movements and the application of heated herbal compresses to promote relaxation and relieve tension.
According to research, both prenatal yoga and prenatal massage have numerous positive effects, such as improving sleep and increasing the strength, flexibility, and endurance of muscles that are important for childbirth. Prenatal massage can also alleviate symptoms such as lower back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, and shortness of breath, as well as relieve tension in the hips, chest, upper back, neck, and shoulders. The massage stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which calms the body's response to stress, deepens the connection with the baby, and reduces stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that prenatal massage can lower cortisol and norepinephrine levels while increasing serotonin and dopamine levels.
Deep Tissue
The Deep Tissue treatment is a massage therapy that targets the deeper layers of muscle tissue. By using specific techniques, it aims to elongate, relax, and release tension patterns within the muscles, thereby realigning the body's posture. The treatment involves applying deep pressure on the back, neck, shoulders, and legs using the thumbs, hands, and forearms. It is a hands-on approach that helps clients feel revitalised and rejuvenated after the session. In addition for a small additional cost you can add on hot stones or hot bamboo to this treatment creating the ultimate relaxing experience.
1-2-1 yoga
Are you finding it difficult to attend a yoga class at your local studio because the schedule doesn't fit yours? Or perhaps you are an experienced yogi who needs to avoid certain poses due to injury, and a regular group class may not be suitable for you. Alternatively, if you are pregnant or postpartum and require support in creating a personalised practice that accommodates your changing body's needs, then private yoga lessons may be the answer for you. During a one-on-one session, you will have my undivided attention for the entire hour, enabling you to focus on aspects of your practice that suit you personally, rather than considering the needs and abilities of a group setting.
Whether you choose to have your session in-person or online, rest assured that you will receive the same level of planning, care, and attention.
“I saw Charlie when I was pregnant and returned last week for a post partum treatment. Charlie creates the most relaxing and nurturing environment for her work, nourishing all the senses. She knew exactly where to target the massage and got into all the tight areas. The herbal compresses were heavenly and I could feel my body sigh with relief at their touch. A beautiful surprise was being held, rocked and wrapped in beautiful scarves. It felt like returning to a very sacred space; deeply relaxing and restorative. Charlie is a true wise woman when it comes to touch and what the body needs. I would strongly recommend her to anyone needing profound and deep relaxation and healing"
